Ask Lex: "How do you thrift?"

Thrifting is not as easy as it sounds, trying to find a classic piece is like looking for a needle in a haystack. It takes patience and a little bit of fun as well.
I started thrifting as an effort to save money, but over time it grew into a love! You can find old relics from any decade and make it new! The ex-CEO of NastyGal founded her company on eBay by thrifting. It can be powerful and a nice way to make some cash.
Still, if you find yourself lost any time you enter a Goodwill or a consignment shop here are some tips:
1. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS try on clothes!
Most thrift stores don't have a return policy, so make sure that if you like the fit... that it actually ya know fits
2. DON'T go in with a plan
Thrifting should be about fun, it's all about the hunt!
3. WASH anything you buy
It's just better to be safe than sorry! (FYI you should wash ANY new clothes you buy thrifted or not)
4. Have FUN
Like I mentioned enjoy yourself and relax! Thrifting is something you can do solo, with friends, or even make it a date!
Here are few of my favorite thrifting stores:
Rag-O-Rama (Columbus, Ohio)
Goodwill (Any will do!)
Avalon (Cleveland, Ohio)
BloodThristy Vintage (Online)
