The Met Gala formally called the Costume Institute Ball, and is also known as the Met Ball, is an annual gala that helps raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City.
This event isn't called the "Oscars of Fashion" for no reason. People come all over the world to be apart of this event.
This year's theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination." It also signifies the grand opening for the anticipated annual fashion exhibition with the same theme. The fashion exhibit opens on May 10, 2018.
